Swimming Lessons
Swim lessons consist of 9 daily one half hour lessons over a two week period; the second Friday of each session will be used as a rain out day if needed. The session dates are as follows:
- June 4 - June 14
- June 18 - June 28
- July 2 - July 13 (No classes July 4th)
- July 16 - July 26
- July 30 - August 9
Lessons will begin at 9:30 a.m. each day with a new class beginning every 35 minutes with the last class ending at 12:55 p.m.
Parent and Tot classes will not begin until 10:05 a.m. each session.
Registration Information
Lessons begin on Monday, June 4th. New sessions will begin every other Monday through the summer. Residents must show City Bill at registration or pay Non-Resident prices.
*Early registration will be for the first two sessions of swim lessons only!
*Online registration ends the Friday before each session starts. Registration for each session closes the Saturday before the session begins.

Swimming Class Descriptions
This list is a brief description of what each class teaches. It is not a comprehensive list. Requirements to pass the class may include other requirements in addition to those listed.
Parent and Child Swimming
(Ages 6 months-3 years) This class is designed to acclimate small children/infants to the water environment. Swimming and safety skills will be taught. Activities provide opportunities for child and parent to interact and develop a positive aquatic experience.
Preschool
(Ages 3-5 years) This class is for the non-swimmer who is uncomfortable in the water. This class will help participants feel more comfortable in the water and enjoy the water safely. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to blowing bubbles, basic arm and leg movement and floating assisted front/back 3 seconds.
Preschool Swimming Level 1
(Ages 3-5 years) This class is for participants who can submerge and who are comfortable in the water. Various swimming and safety skills will be taught. Activities will teach fundamental skills, such as floating and basic movement in water. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to floating on front/back unassisted.
Preschool Swimming Level 2
(Ages 3-5 years) This class is for participants who are comfortable in the water and can swim but need to learn and or improve a particular stroke or skill. Various swimming and safety skills will be taught. Activities will improve participants’ coordination of arm and leg movement and begin introducing aspects of other strokes. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to back float and glide and combined arm and leg movement on front/back.
Level 1
(Ages 5 years and older) This class is for the non-swimmer who is uncomfortable in the water. Various swimming and safety skills will be taught. Activities will allow the swimmer to explore the water environment. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to floating assisted front/back for 3 seconds.
Level 2
(Ages 5 years and older) This class is for participants who can submerge and who are comfortable in the water. Various swimming and safety skills will be taught. Activities will allow the participant to acquire primary swimming skills. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to swimming for five yards front and back.
Level 3
(Ages 5 years and older) This class is for participants who can swim but are learning to develop their strokes. Various swimming and safety skills will be taught. Activities will allow the participant to learn and become familiar with basic swimming strokes. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to swimming the front and back crawl and swimming in the deep end.
Level 4
(Ages 5 years and older) This class is for the swimmer who is developing the crawl, back crawl and elementary back strokes. Various swimming, diving and safety skills will be taught. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to swimming front crawl with side breathing, back crawl, and breaststroke.
Level 5
(Ages 5 years and older) This class is for the swimmer who needs to refine the basic strokes and learn more advanced strokes. Various swimming, diving and safety skills will be taught. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to swimming front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and butterfly.
Level 6
(Ages 5 years and older) This class is for the swimmer who has refined, and is becoming more proficient in the advanced strokes. Various swimming, diving and safety skills will be taught. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to swimming each stroke for 50 yards and having a strong understanding of pool safety.

Lesson Refund Policy - Cash refunds will not be given for swim lessons. Credits will be extended, less a $5 handling fee, for any other pool service. A $5 transfer fee will be charged when class time, class level, or session is changed.

Regular sign-ups will begin Monday, May 28 2018. Residents are strongly encouraged to sign up at these early times to avoid crowds.

Cost $2.00 or free on day of pass.

Aerobics patrons must enter through building with pass. Consider getting a daily pass if you attend aerobics every day. (14 years and older please)
